AI rules change the build
This is automated combat against another formation. Damage, control, shields and reliable skill behavior matter together. Manual execution tricks are unavailable, and a training rotation does not prove the AI will use it. [S05, S17, S21]
Formation starting point
Use a durable initiator with control and a damage dealer that can cast safely. All Might grouping, Tsuyu disruption and Nejire area pressure are useful community themes; Mirio and WHM Shoto are prominent later-era threats. The best positions depend on the opposing lineup, so this is an editorial starting structure rather than a fixed winning team. [S04, S24]
Watch the opener
If your ranged carry dies instantly, protect or reposition it. If your team survives but cannot finish, increase damage or avoid a defensive matchup. If every cast is interrupted, test hyperarmor/shield options. Change one slot or card at a time.
Talent and card cautions
The old talent sheet warns that base Deku BR can hurt AI behavior, suggesting TR as the second branch for AI focus. Shield cards can have more value here than in manual PvE. Do not automatically equip Mastermind if the mode does not allow the ultimate loop you built around. [S03, S17]
Timeouts
The unofficial FAQ reports that the attacking side loses when it cannot defeat the defense inside the time limit. Having more health remaining is not sufficient. This explains why a team can look stronger and still lose. Verify custom-server scoring if it differs. [S21]
Progression choice
Build a few coherent heroes before adding an unbuilt premium character. A well-developed farmable control hero can be more useful than a fresh hero whose first skill never lands.
